Boulder Associates’ Park Hill Family Health Center project breaks ground

3.19.08

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper joined Denver Health CEO and Medical Director Patricia A. Gabow, M.D., to move the first dirt, beginning construction on the new Park Hill Family Health Center at Dahlia Square, earlier this month.

After years of complex environmental remediation and real estate negotiation, the site is finally primed for new construction, including the 12,000 s.f clinic.

Mayor Hickenlooper and Dr. Gabow were joined by City Councilwoman Carla Madison (District 8); Bruce Alexander, chair, Denver Health and Hospital Authority Board of Directors; Kenneth Floyd, chair, Denver Community Health Services, Inc. Board of Directors; Pat Hamill, president, Oakwood Homes; and Tracy Huggins, executive director, Denver Urban Renewal Authority at the groundbreaking.

The project team for Park Hill includes:
·          Associate Architect: Harold Massop Associates Architects
·          Contractor: Alliance Construction Solutions
·          Interior Designer: Gallun Snow Associates
·          Mechanical / Plumbing Engineering: The Ballard Group, Inc.
·          Electrical Engineering: Szynskie Group Inc.
·          Civil / Structural Engineering: S. A. Miro, Inc.
·          Low Voltage Cabling: Technology Plus, Inc.

The Park Hill Family Health Center is the third such project Boulder Associates Architect has designed for Denver Health and Hospital Authority. The firm provided complete design services for The La Mariposa Family Health Clinic within the Wellington E. Webb Center for Primary Care and schematic design services for the Westwood Family Health Center.

In addition to utilization of a brownfield site, the project is designed with sustainable components consistent with Denver Health’s focus on energy-efficiency and long-term investments.
