Community-based cancer care centers are a rallying point for communities wishing to improve the quality of life in their town. New centers often feature traditional medical and radiological therapies but also offer alternative and natural treatments.
Because both a special patient population and high-dollar equipment reside within cancer care centers, a carefully planned balance between individualized care and highly efficient operations is required.
We recommend planners anticipate 5 – 8 infusion bays per medical oncologist and 25 RT patients per day for each Linear Accelerator.
