The Advanced Medicine Pavilion for St. Mary's Medical Center

This design draws imagery from the rocky landscape of Western Colorado and uses it to reduce patient anxiety and simplify the facility’s complex program.

A central wedge-shaped atrium creates a cool, shaded “canyon” while the glass atrium and waiting areas are restful havens for cancer patients and visitors.

The atrium opens up to dramatic views of the Grand Mesa, reinforcing a sense of seamless connection between structure, landscape and well-being.
