La Mariposa Community Health Center provided primary care to residents of Denver's La Alma/Lincoln Park neighborhood.

As the client planned to relocate La Mariposa to the main hospital campus less than a mile to the east, patients and staff were concerned that their walk-up local clinic would become too intimidating and institutional.

Boulder Associates teamed with local artist Tony Ortega to integrate art by local school children into the project, providing La Mariposa patients, as well as others visiting the building, with a connection to the fabric of the community.
