The AIA North Chapter awarded Boulder Associates a Citation Award for the design of Eisenhower Medical Center’s George and Julia Argyros Health Center. James Lenhart, AIA, Senior Associate, accepted the award at the gala held at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.
James, the Project Manager for the center, was thrilled by the jury’s appreciation for the quality of work. “It is very satisfying to have a healthcare facility recognized for design , especially when competing for an award in an open commercial building category. I hope it speaks to a greater awareness of the importance of a pleasant, well-designed space for health and healing, above and beyond the mere provision of clinical services.”
The George and Julia Argyros Health Center is the first building of Eisenhower Medical Center’s new satellite campus. Featuring a unique tensile fabric canopy over its main entry, this contemporary building also draws on local architecture by using terra-cotta tiles, stucco, and metal panels on the exterior.
The 92,000 s.f. building houses a multi-specialty medical group, an orthopedic single-specialty group, a family practice residency, an imaging center, radiation oncology, wellness facilities, and urgent care.
