Sutter Medical Foundation Auburn Sierra Medical Offices  |  Auburn, California

This 20,000 s.f. tenant improvement project involved renovating the entire first floor of an existing office building to house pediatrics, internal medicine, pulmonology, orthopedics, urgent care, occupational health, and a specimen collection lab.

Wayfinding signage was placed along the patient path of travel to assist with navigation to the appropriate check-in location. The signage design language was created to ensure consistency in wayfinding and to allow patients to easily recognize signs for navigation. This language includes unique landscape graphics, stone used as the background wall material, and a wood ledge the sign was placed on.

Directional carpet patterns, such as leaves pointing in the same direction, guide patients to waiting rooms and exits, while images of animals and nature serve as a helpful wayfinding tool for children, allowing them to self-room.
