Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Stockton Campus  |  Stockton, California

The Sutter Stockton Medical Campus is comprised of four buildings totaling more than 164,000 s.f of medical office spaces: two three-story medical office buildings, an ambulatory surgery center, and an imaging center.

This urban fill project was placed next to Hammer Lane, a main Stockton thoroughfare. The city and client asked Boulder Associates to create the feel of a walkable street next to this key urban route. Sightlines from the lobby to the sidewalks create a connection between passersby and the healthcare community within the buildings. The Imaging Center connects both MOBs and includes MRI, CT, X-Ray, RNF, mammography, bone density, and ultrasound. Interior Design was a collaboration between Boulder Associates and Ken Reid Design.

The 12,600 s.f. Surgery Center houses three operating rooms and two procedure rooms, and provides urology, endoscopy, pain management, general/internal medicine, podiatry, and OB/GYN procedures. The open pre-op recovery suite allows for visibility and flexibility of staff, direct access from pre-op/recovery to the procedure rooms, and reduced walking distance to operating rooms from the sterile corridor. The open waiting rooms feature furniture arranged in pods to provide an intimate setting with plentiful natural light and large windows overlooking an exterior garden.

Several studies were conducted to address client concerns with case type changes and overall growth. The result was a design that planned for growth along the sterile corridor for added operating rooms and well as conversion of both procedure rooms into all Pain, GI or more PACU space.
