Tebo Family Medical Pavilion at Boulder Community Foothills Hospital  |  Boulder, Colorado

This innovative 42,000 g.s.f. facility consolidates previously fragmented treatment services into a fully integrated outpatient cancer center. Patients are treated through medical oncology, radiation oncology, cyber knife, integrative therapies, and education. The architecture draws upon regional forms to create a unique and warm environment, both inside and out, for a better patient and staff experience.

Building on the sustainable successes of the adjacent Boulder Community Foothills Hospital – the first LEED certified healthcare project in the nation – the cancer center incorporates local materials such as concrete, stone and brick, deep overhangs and spectacular views. A labyrinth set in a private courtyard offers a place for reflection with a backdrop of soothing water flowing over stone walls. The 28kW photovoltaic system provides onsite electricity generation.
