This 16,605-square-foot ambulatory surgery center is a tenant improvement within a shell, providing a dedicated orthopedic surgical environment on one floor. The space includes four operating rooms and supportive areas: sterile processing, equipment storage, pre-op and PACU bays, nurse stations, medication prep, utility rooms, patient restrooms, and a dedicated consult space. The layout streamlines perioperative workflows, clearly separating patient, staff, and sterile areas.

Recognizing the limited access to natural light in patient areas, the design team focused on creating a bright, welcoming atmosphere through layered lighting strategies. Cove lighting at the nurse station and integrated fixtures along the central core enhance both the visual quality of the space and intuitive wayfinding for patients and staff. Acoustical panels at the checkout area provide visual and acoustic privacy, supporting sensitive patient interactions, and underscoring a patient-centered approach. Patient bays feature head wall assemblies finished in a wood-look wall protection material, introducing warmth and an inviting character while meeting the durability demands of a high-traffic clinical environment. The result is a cohesive surgical setting that balances performance, privacy, and patient comfort.
